Notion Ink Response to Common Customer needs

Consider this conversation in a restaurant

NI Restaurant Customer: "Hi, I'd like some coke, a Crispy chicken burger, and fries on that side"

Waiter: "The GDP of Greece fell by 8% but then nickel cadmium hydride couldn't be worse than treasury bonds by the ocean floor"

NI Restaurant Customer: Huh?

That's how I felt reading today's blog entry - which finally came in today.

Also, They're "doing extensive research on the topics (of Wi-Fi, battery etc.) and publish it." Right. People are interested in technical "research now", guess all the research will magically improve current issues.

I can imagine...well, maybe some Adam fan will even say "I was reading this...research on the blog and guess what! My camera started working!! OMG thank you Rohan!"

Unbelievable. Barely addresses questions being asked. Instead we get to read about Fonts and GPU.

Answer the question people are asking, Rohan. And it sure isn't a lecture about Font rendering.

  2. Hey, but you should feel good. I think it was your post calling them out that got the post published. Even if he was just rehashing a sub-pixel rendering argument that really isn't even relevant in 2011 (what with screen types being different and with the technologies evolving). I mean, I didn't go to whatever high tech school Rohan went to (just a good liberal arts school in the US), but I've talked to the folks at Monotype and seen their hinting and production process for setting font rendering on Samsung Android devices, Windows Phone as an OS and the Kindle (which they started specifically optimizing for with Kindle 2) and got the sense that not only was his blog entry an attempt to distract, it was also less than technically competent.

  3. Oh my God! I nearly went catatonic with extreme rage and boredom mixed together when reading Rohans current post. Rohan is doing the tech equivalent of running around coconut grooves in Bollywood movies. Font RENDERING! Hes just faffing about font rendering and over a hundred people joining. How can a person write such flaming rubbish. The guy who is investing in NI must be one gigantic idiot, imagine the sales speil he fell for. Did Rohan show him the ceiling fan and explain to him how it turned, and the other guy said "Awesome, here take all my money and build a giant bonfire called NI, just leave me enough to buy more encyclopedias to put up on my wall to seem intelligent"

  4. I'll not comment on the technical hoopla which Rohan Shravan mentioned about font rendering and GPGPU, all i care is he mentioned about giving 100+ interviews in last 2 weeks.. a good enough time for them to get published in the tech journals and websites... and if even we are not capable enough to find them atleast google bots could do that.. but i could not find any interview published !! only one on 4th july which jksaur already pointed out...!!!

  5. It's not clear if it was 100+ interviews to magazines/journals or if it's internal 100+ interviews (he has mentioned before that he sits through every recruiting interview). I have a few thoughts on the latest blog (apart from my earlier remark), and I'll post on that in a day or two.

  6. I'm not qualified to comment on the technical aspects of it, but I really don't care. It's irrelevant to the issues at hand - and you mentioned, it's just a distraction game. I mean most people see through it. It's not like people have been clamoring for...better font rendering. The device and the s/w is so perfect that the only thing that's pressing right now is...fonts!

  7. He had the time to sit through 100+ interviews? It seems that all NI employees have left and the three founders are just spending their time trying to snare some hapless fools again. Oh wait, that makes sense! The three founders are the "100 developers" he had talked about earlier, which I suspected was a binary number, and they've managed to scour up enough money to conduct "more than three" interviews at a nearby coffee shop!

  8. Hahahhahahah....EPIC!!! EPIC is the word.....excellent writing jksaur...The posts make a wonderful reading. Alas! its not always funny when your money and patience is stuck....And the investor you speak about is somebody by name Arjun Balasubramanium...Phew! Got the name??!! His FB profile says so...Linkedin.com profile shows that he has a lotttt of money...So he must be a jolly good fellow :)

  9. Hehhehe....my expression on reading it was "yawn".."huh??!!"..."yawn"..."duh!"" and "zzzzzzzz"....

Having said that...one can also notice that only few people actually post some sensible stuff as a reply to his posts...Most of them are racing to be "me first!!" or just ":)"....Now thats sensible fan following!!!

And yes...the investor is a "GIGANTIC IDIOT!!"
